It all began during an Ulduar25 raid, a most fateful day indeed. While pulling trash to Thorim, I hear a large crash coming from my kitchen. Fearing that my cat had knocked something over, I tell the guild that I must investigate.

This, as it turns out, was mistake number one.

Upon entering the room, I was greeted by an eight foot tall grizzly bear; it’s hindquarters pointed towards me obscenely as it chowed down on a flayed bag of cat food. Panic stricken, I tried to back out of the room, only to bump a knocked over bowl and alerting the bear.

Not one who liked to be startled, it whipped around with a roar that rattled my teeth. I can hear my heart beating in my ears as I race away, glancing over my shoulder to see the bear pursuing me. The nearest exit was my sliding glass door, which was closed, and I did not have time to open it for the bear would catch me.

Steeling my resolve, I launch myself into a shoulder tackle, shattering the glass in a deafening smash. I tuck and roll as best as possible, but I can still feel razor sharp pieces slicing into my back, although the adrenaline minimized the pain I could feel. Without pause, I continued running through my back yard, hopped the fence and made my way through the neighborhood.

The bear was gaining fast, but I had the upper hand; intelligence and a cold disregard for human life. I rush to a nearby child’s playground, knowing that I had to lead the bear to it’s natural prey; delicious loli. It’s twisted fetish still disgusts me to this day.

I run a path through as many children as possible, throwing them in the bears path. But apparently my defiance and will to live has enraged the bear to the point of single minded hate; it ignores it’s favorite snack in favor of my blood.

Knowing I cannot outrun the bear, as it has now taken a sprinters stance, further closing the distance, I turn and face it. I rely on my years of training as a Shaolin Monk to deftly dodge the bears first clumsy strike. My retaliation comes in the form of three quick open palm strikes to it’s snout; I had tried to push the bones back into it’s own brain.

With a hiss of pain, I barely dance out of range from a vicious strike to my torso. With a quick triple back flip, I spring board off a nearby tree and perform a text book flying knee. The bear seems temporarily stunned and I make my escape.

I quickly find myself in a busy intersection, and the bears distant cries of rage echo behind me. Seeing my chance of escape in the form of an oncoming motorcycle, I cloths line the driver and steal the bike.

This, as it turns out, was mistake number two.

In accordance with the Ancient Laws set forth by the Bear God Ursongos, my reliance on technology allowed the bear to engage me in full combat. It drops it’s charade as a lowly beast and changes into it’s true form…

An even larger bear.

Calling upon the ancient spirits of it’s brethren, Oshaku of the Wind, it begins it’s chase once more at a cruising speed of over 9000 miles per hour. I know my end is soon, so I active “Do Not Touch” button present on all motorcycles. With the metallic sound of gears shifting and turning, the bike quickly transforms into a ten feet tall mech suit. I once again turn to make my stand.

I grab a nearby motorist and throw it at the monster, and the collision produces a satisfying crunch as metal meets flesh. Before I can count my winnings, though, the bear lets loose a sonic roar that blows the car seventeen stories into the air, horribly maiming a group of high school students.

I quickly construct a Hadron Cannon out of pocket lint, a metal rod, and a paper clip. MacGyver, eat your heart out.

The gun unleashes a seemingly unstoppable stream of particles that decimate all nearby life. The beam goes on for miles, carving a massive scar through the earth. After thirty seconds of continuous fire, the gun’s cells deplete.

Hellish fires and molten lava swim around it, but the bear is unharmed. Of course, I should have known! Bear hide is immune to all forms of ranged attacks.

The bear sprints towards me at eighteen times the speed of light, because Fuck You Einstein, and I catch it’s bear claws in my mechanical grasp.

“Why do we fight, Oh Great One?!” I cry out.

The bear snarls, “It is written in the stars, one of us must fall. Now, prepare yourself!”

I pray to every deity I know for some power to purge the world of the demon, and with a thunderous boom that shook the earth, they were answered.

From parted clouds a sword came crashing down from the heavens, at least a mile long and one hundred yards wide. I did not question the Gods, and instead simply touched the blade; I felt the world shrink, as I grew larger, matching the sword in shear magnitude.

The bear sensed it’s demise and quickly called to all of the thirteen Bear Spirits to combat me. They granted it their twisted power, and his once small frame rocketed towards the sky, towering over even myself.

I drew back the sword, preparing to take the first blow. As the blade sang through the air it cut through the very fabric of existence. Through every world, galaxy, and universe all life ceased to exist as their life source was channeled into the weapon, further increasing it’s awesome power.

An angelic tone rang through all of reality as Holy Blade met tainted claws.

The earth was instantly destroyed, and the solar system soon after. The only thing keeping our titanic bodies in contact was the natural laws of gravity.

We battled for eons, across the entire universe, even in it’s now barren state. Neither gave quarter, nor asked it. Each attack plan lasted centuries, a near infinite number of moves calculated in a spam of time so small it could have been considered to not have happened at all.

Over a course of a billion years, I had slowly gained ground on the demon. I pressed my advantage, and I could almost taste victory.

It would only be a few more millennia.

The time came when I sank my blade deep into it’s black heart. I felt the wailing cries of countless souls escaping it’s body, fleeing to whatever afterlife they were destined after countless years in captivity. They sang songs of retribution and triumph in a million different languages, all glad to be free.

I made my way to the center of the universe — of all the universes. I plunged the Sword of Existence into the fabric of reality, releasing a Big Bang to end all Big Bangs. I simultaneously created every dimension at once, recreating the life I had taken away.

Then I searched. I looked for the spot that would one day contain earth and my home. And when I found it, I watched our entire history occur as I waited for my time to return. Eventually it came, and I relinquished my gifted powers to their owner, and in one last favor to me, they transported me to my comfortable computer chair.

I was so excited; I had so much to tell, so much to share. I could cure every disease and ailment, I could further science millions of years, or I could tell the stories of every society that ever existed.

I quickly logged back on to World of Warcraft to tell my Guildmates all that had transpired… Only to find I had been kicked for afking during a raid.

Time is always passing and I can never seem to track or realize where it has gone.
It feels like years since I’ve posted here and that upsets me greatly.

I think, the fact of the matter is, I need to have a more active life.  Or at least do something spontaneous with what I currently have.

School and work are wearing me down.  The irony is that in regards to both, it’s a lack thereof.
I still don’t have a job, and I’m coming to terms with the fact that I have between 4 and 5 years of schooling left before I can be out of there as a student for good.

I honestly don’t know what to say or do sometimes either.
I like to think I’m happy but, frankly, it’s more the fact that I’m just not sad.
It’s a silly motto, but: “When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again.”
It makes/made/always will make me laugh and that’s what counts to me.

I’ve been indulging a lot of my time into video games (as usual) and they’re even starting to wear on me.  I, at times, wish I could have a new beginning, you know?  I’ve got a secret alternate character that I haven’t told anyone about.  I’m, sadly, enjoying playing this character more than I’ve enjoyed playing the game in a long time.

I guess I’m also, for lack of a better word, depressed about the state of the roleplaying on my server.  It’s either the lack of it, the insanely bad attempts people try to call what they’re doing roleplaying, or there’s people who grief it.
I’m not going to point any fingers, but if you know me well enough, you’ve heard me rant and rave about the people and groups in question.

In addition to that, I’ve yet to even get past the introduction in my main character Shayser’s story and FUTHERMORE, I have a hell of a lot of work to do on my death knight Karkaroth’s story too.
(On a side note, I’ve been considering changing his name to something original however, this requires money which stems from a job.)

I’m trying to finish writing a song on my guitar.  I think I’ll begin recording a bit of it this upcoming week after I get school stuff ironed out.
It’s worth posting as well that last month I was in Las Vegas for a little less than a week.  The trip was a birthday gift from a good friend of mine and I enjoyed the hell out of it.
I can’t wait to go back next summer.  On top of that, my friend (who took us on the trip) is looking to buy a place in Arizona.  Now, I know you’re thinking, “Dude, you hate sunlight/outdoors/etc.” you’d be right.  But, it’s a vacation/trip.  I love those.

I’m going to do my best to try posting more.

I personally dislike change. I vehemently avoid it. I do my best to counter it. I sometimes am overcome by it.

A number of things have come to pass this last month.

• My friend Shawn got a new place. He’s super excited.

• My birthday rolled around. I got an iPhone! (I’m writing this post from it, actually!)

• I made progress on registration for university this September.

• And, very unfortunately, my dog Sasha passed away…

I’m still getting over it a bit. I’m sure in time I’ll be okay.

But anyway, I’m posting cause it’s been a while.

How’re you guys?

I mean, don’t get me wrong.  I love being able to sit back and play video games and talk to friends/acquaintances all day, but the lack of money flowing in = bad.

I have a few things I’d like to do, namely:

1.) Go to Seattle again.
2.) Pay for school
3.) Buy more video games
4.) Change some characters on my WoW account
5.) Take some art classes (glass blowing, drawing, etc.)
6.) Get an iPhone/new phone
7.) Get my own place
8.) Buy my own website and host my rants/ideas
9.) Get a PDA to organize myself better (see #6)

I could go on for a LONG time.

Point is though, every place I apply either is too dim to notice I KNOW WHAT I’M DOING AND WOULD BE GOOD FOR THIS JOB, or they aren’t hiring.

Both make me sad.

I even had my involvement in XXX MAIN’s productions, but my boss there doesn’t call me anymore, nor does he answer my phone calls/messages.  I did some work with them months ago and they still haven’t called me about more, finishing, or even paying me.  Granted I know the boss-man personally, but still… this cold shoulder brush off is a little harsh…

Additionally, school is becoming an issue because with me being lazy, disorganized, and a slacker when it comes to myself, I’m not sure what to do next.  I hate asking for advice because I usually can do things on my own, but it seems I’m going to have to bite the bullet and just take the blow.  It can’t hurt, I suppose.

I’ll be 21 soon.  That’s exciting.  I’m supposed to be going to vegas as a gift, and apparently my buddy who I wanted to bring along isn’t going to be allowed -at the age of 21 as well, mind you- because his father is worried he’ll “go too crazy”.

Now, this trip, as cool as it sounds will have the following people in attendance:

1.) ME.
2.) My mom, who’s paying.
3.) My mom’s friend Shawn (who is also a friend of mine)
4.) Piotr
^ Friend who can’t come because he’s Polish/Ukrainian and as a Ukrainian we’re insane around alcohol.

So, I’m not sure what the big deal is.  I’m, on a stretch, guessing it’s that his dad thinks it’ll be me and him only and we’ll:

a.) get drunk.
b.) get so drunk we forget our names.
c.) gamble all our money away.
d.) sell ourselves to the slave trade.
e.) ???
f.) profit?

I’m not sure.

The Truth about PETA

After more than 100 dead dogs were dumped in a trash dumpster over four weeks, police in Ahoskie, N.C., kept an eye on the trash receptacle behind a supermarket. Sure enough, a van drove up and officers watched the occupants throw in heavy plastic bags. They detained the two people in the van and found 18 dead dogs in plastic bags in the dumpster, including puppies; 13 more dead dogs were still in the van. Police say the van is registered to the headquarters of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and the two occupants, Andrew B. Cook, 24, and Adria Joy Hinkle, 27, identified themselves as PETA employees. An autopsy performed on one of the dogs found it was healthy before it was killed. Police say PETA has been picking up the animals — alive — from North Carolina animal shelters, promising to find them good homes. Cook and Hinkle have been charged with 62 felony counts of animal cruelty. In response to the arrests PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said it’s against the group’s policy for employees to dump animals in the trash, but “that for some animals in North Carolina, there is no kinder option than euthanasia.” (Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald) …Oops, my mistake: that’s “Playing God” Defined.

The more I learn about PETA, the less I think of them. The story of them killing animals isn’t even unusual. According to PETA’s own filings, in 2004 PETA killed 86.3 percent of the animals entrusted to its care — a number that’s rising, not falling. Meanwhile, the SPCA in PETA’s home town (Norfolk, Va.) was able to find loving homes for 73 percent of the animals put in its care. A shortage of funds? Nope: last year PETA took in $29 million in tax-exempt donations. It simply has other priorities for the funds, like funding terrorism (yes, really). But don’t take my word for it: I got my figures from http://www.PETAkillsAnimals.com — and they have copies of PETA’s state and federal filings to back it up. The bottom line: if you donate money to PETA because you think they care for and about animals, you need to think some more. PETA literally yells and screams about how others “kill animals” but this is how they operate? Pathetic.

And you know what I wonder? PETA’s official count of animals they kill is 86.3 percent. But if they’re going around picking up animals, killing them while they drive around and not even giving them a chance to be adopted, and then destroying the evidence by dumping the bodies in the trash, are those deaths being reported? My guess: no. While 86.3 percent is awful, the actual number is probably much, much higher. How dare they lecture anyone about the “ethical” treatment of animals!

Oh wow… I laughed SO HARD when I read this.

Not because of the killing, but because of the blatant hypocrisy of such a stupid and pointless organization.

And while I say pointless, I don’t mean that people should be able to treat animals in a bad way, but these twats go about it in a stupid, backwards, and indignantly retarded way.

I’ve always thought PETA were so God damned, ass-backwards as hell.  This proves it.

Such a common phrase like, 10 years ago.  It went with art, artists, and people who followed the trend/style.

Personally, I was always more of a Love ‘n’ art sorta guy.  Art has encompassed my whole life from music, to writing, to reading, to drawing, painting, singing, etc.

Art is evident and prominent everywhere you go.  Everything in this world is a form of art.  The buildings we live in, go to, see on the street.  The car we drive, bus we take, bike we ride.

Roleplaying, as most of you know I am a fan of, is another form of art.  Many people, to an extent, see themselves as a disgruntled version of the appointed RP police.  This makes me sad.

Telling someone they’re “doing it wrong” when it comes to art is apalling.  Art is…

NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK and NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE

…whatever you want it to be.

I think it’s even funnier when some asshat goes off on a tangent and simply ridicules another for doing something brash, or something a little taboo.  In essence, while trying to discredit and cast out the person as a fool, they make themself look completely retarded.

It’s hilarious.

Now, I’m sure as you read this you’re thinking, “Well people can be doing it wrong if they’re doing it badly…” and to an extent, I agree with you.  HOWEVER, as an artist, or lover of art you are in fact OBLIGATED to assist them, and correct their mistakes until they grow as a person and learn to do it “right” or “good”.  Failure to do so makes you a part of the problem.

If you don’t believe this, you’re wrong.

“So… I write you guys a detailed email outlining my problem, and you respond with a generic, pre-programed one?  That’s slap in the face.  I clearly stated in my email the following:

“I’m not asking you to break your rules and tell me what you will do to these
people… just tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way about them.”

I am asking, quite plainly, WILL SOMETHING BE DONE or will everything just be OVERLOOKED?  There have been many situations where I have reported BLATANT violations of rules and nothing has been done.

You say, “…please submit an in game ticket and a Game Master will be happy to investigate and take the appropriate actions.”  Well, what about the times where NOTHING has been done?  I have taken it upon myself to add people with names that violate policy while I wait for their name to be changed.  I’ve got a few.  So, it seems someone either doesn’t care, or isn’t doing their job…

I’d appreciate a real response.  Not some automated/cookie cutter reply.

So, as it seems, they’re either lazy, or they don’t care about their own rules. 

I have … from memory, 11 people on my friends list with names that violate the terms of service for naming rules, and to this day they are still on the loose.

Honestly… It’s appalling, the kind of people you meet sometimes.

I could never be a GM for blizzard.  I’d take my job too seriously.  I’d literally have two macros set up.  One to target the non-RPers, and the other to ban them.

Through and through.

My roots run deep, and have changed over the years to make me a figurative tree of many leaves.  Each leaf, in this metaphorical tree that I am, is a significant memory I have from my experiences.

Some leaves date back – wayyyyy back – to my days on things like Habbo Hotel, or Red Moon, or Ultima Online (We’re talking 10+ years of online text based RP, to video games, etc.).  And the fresher ones are leaves representing my current love.  World of Warcraft.  I began playing World of Warcraft, (as my friends and I call it, WoW) about four or five years ago.  I enjoyed it immensely.  I still do!  But after a little time invested, other things caught my interests, and I eventually put it on a back burner.

A few years go by, and a friend (he was at the time, now he isn’t) recaptured my interests, and I became hooked again.  Now I’m here to stay.

Now, back to my leaf metaphor.  Some of the leaves are a bright, vibrant green.  Some an ashy, dying black… and some a light yellow, the touch of death, or the end upon them…  Each represents a time where my life was touched by someone, something, somewhere, somehow.

The green make me happy.

The black make me mad.

The yellow make me sad…

I’ve lost friends, I’ve lost allies, I’ve even lost people I’d have called family… But no matter what… what makes me the strongest is to just keep on trucking and pushing through.

So, to the point of today’s blog.

Hi, I’ll keep this as simple as I can…

I’m curious as to why, for instance, names of players, guilds, arena teams, pets, etc. cannot be monitored with a feature that requires a GM or Blizzard Employee to approve them.

I, each and every day, am faced with people who seem to be allowed their BLATANT disregard of the rules of the game, and the rules of an RP server/community.

Terms of service sections 9.a.iv – 9.a.xiii (found at: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html) state the many rules that I can see broken every single day by players who, if it were up to me, would not be permitted play time.

However, as you (the reader of this email) and I both know, it is not up to me.  Nevertheless, as the ones in control, I wonder how much slack the game master staff gives to people who break these rules and regulations.

Section 10 of your EULA states the following:

“Duration of the “On-line” Component of the Game. This Game is an ‘on-line’ game that must be played over the Internet through the Service as provided by Blizzard. You understand and agree that the Service is provided by Blizzard at its discretion and may be terminated or otherwise discontinued by Blizzard pursuant to the Terms of Use.”

In the aforementioned point I stated of, “Terms of service sections 9.a.iv – 9.a.xiii state the many rules that I can see broken every single day by players who, if it were up to me, would not be permitted play time…” this means that any person violating said rules with, for instance, a name that is “comprised of partial or complete sentence” (9.a.ix) would be in direct violation of the EULA and should be banned, or deemed with a sufficient punishment decided by you, the game master staff.

Also, being a member of a roleplaying community, I am often beset by groups/individuals who seem to enjoy exploiting the, forgive the term, Greater Internet Dickwad Theory (http://www.penny-arcade.com/docs/internetdickwad.jpg).

These people, so it would seem, are violating various sections between 9.b.ii – 9.b.ix.

While these people continue to run rampant, and I am 100% aware that as game masters your job is quite difficult, you have much to deal with at once.  I, at a time, used to grow angry when I would see the tell-tale “We have a large number of petitions“, but then would realize, in time, they will get to me.  The world is not ending.  I can wait.  And I do.  Patiently.  But when I report issued that both A.) ruin my immersion, and B.) break the rules of the game, I become worried of what is bring done.

A specific set of examples:  There are two players in the game world on my main server of Moon Guard named Projectalice, and the other Carbohydrate.  Both names are in violation of the naming rules.  Especially for an RP server.  Additionally, the character Carbohydrate was a member of a guild, <BRB Bowflexing> which, while completely inane, was simply renamed as <Names guild> (I do not remember the player name it was given).  According to your rules regarding the Roleplaying Policy, (found here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=20458) they, all three (both characters and the guild) are in violation of the rules.

I don’t mean to sound like a tattletale, or be an annoyance, however, I implore you…  Try to see it from the perspective of an avid roleplayer who is simply trying to enjoy the game to it’s fullest potential.

I imagine at times, some of you may even be roleplayers yourself.  Which begs the question… does it bother you when you see people speaking in “chatspeak” or anything of the sort?

Does “hey u need 2 do this or cn i plz hav 2 gold?” not make your skin crawl?

I’m not asking you to break your rules and tell me what you will do to these people… just tell me I’m not the only one who feels this way about them.

I find many people to be either dim, slow, or asking for it when they perform menial or simple tasks in a way that is contrary to the proper method.

Additionally, I find when people fail to utilize the strengths given to them (language, speech, etc.) they are simply perpetuating and adding to the fact that they are a complete retard.

I refuse to associate with people who meet this criteria.

Call me closed minded, or selfish for not wanting to “help” them, but it’s the truth.

To anyone who reads this, and I know of two who will for sure, you are my friend if I call you my friend.  For the record, you two are indeed, my friends.

I abhor when people lie about things that can mean worlds to someone.

First things first, people need to relize something.  Nobody is truly BETTER than anyone else.  An elitist attitude such as this will only lead you to one thing.

Disaster.

Ruin.

When you’re down and out, at the bottom of the barrel, wondering why everyone, or anyone for that matters, hates you…  I implore you to look back on your life, measure the weight of your actions and decisions.  We are not any greater, nor are we any worse, than the person standing next to us, ten feet from us, next door to us, at the bus stop down the street.  So I ask, why is it that people are convinced that this is not true?

We all will die and become corpses.  Our “statuses” or our success in life has, quite literally, no determining factors in regards to our death.

No archetypes.

What really hits home with me is when people abandon the people the claim to love.  Or treat them with anything less than they deserve.  They do this because they deem them “unfit” to be in their lives.

Seriously?  Grow up.  You have no idea how much you as a person can mean to someone.  Selfishness will get you NOWHERE.  Consider others prior to acting out your inane decisions.

Next on the docket, people are scum.

No no, don’t even think of saying: “Oh, well, that’s a very general statement….”  Honestly, I could never rely on half of my old friends, if not all of them from back then.

Seriously, I’ve seen it before.  People beseeching their loved ones for help, and not even getting a word of comfort.  It’s vile.  Don’t claim to love someone, and hell, don’t even claim to be their friend.

I can assure you, if someone loves another, they would do every possible thing they could to comfort them in the worst of times.

A message to you people who are guilty of this:

Determine the worth of your friends.
If you don’t like someone, or don’t want to associate with them, then do not consider them a friend.
If you claim to love me, or anyone else, be real and back it up.
You people ask me why I don’t believe when I hear someone say they love.
My answer?
GIVE ME A REASON.
Don’t let people down.

Lastly, I don’t, and nor does anybody, feel like being an OPTION.

I should be a priorety.

What was done to deserve that?  Nothing.  We give it our all.

Something in you has changed.  Time for you to face reality.

You’re stuck on yourself.
